Feeding Birds

Feeding-Birds

It was winter time. Robin and Ellie visited their Grandma in the country. The bad weather kept them inside the house all day. It was raining when they went to bed, and every time they woke up during the night, they could hear the wind sighing and whistling around the house. Finally, the next morning, the sun shone brightly. Such a fine day! The branches of the trees in the garden shone with the clean washed leaves.”It looks as if they have been sprinkled with gold dust and diamonds,” exclaimed Robin. “O Grandma! Please hurry up with breakfast.

We are going out to play,” the children cried as they rushed into the dining room. Grandma smiled and told them to have a heavy breakfast. They were soon out in the garden, and what a splendid time they had! When Grandma called them in for lunch they wondered where time had slipped since breakfast. After lunch, Robin sat by the window.

He observed MIO little birds cuddled up on a branch of a tree. “Ellie! come here,” he called out. “See those poo little birds. They look half frozen and so hungry.” “Poor little things,” replied Ellie. “Let us get some food from Grandma and keep it here for them.” “That’s a good idea. We should also put some water in the bowl for any such birds. I love chirping of birds,” said Robin, “Perhaps they will find it.” They were right! The little birds were soon chirping and flying about merrily and sounded as if they were saying, “Thank you. ” Grandma patted their shoulders and smiled.
